The Open SSL project has recently announced a security vulnerability affecting a huge percentage of servers using SSL. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and it is the technology for establishing the encrypted link between web servers and web browsers. It also is used for securing email and other communications.
Immediately upon the public announcement of the bug, we verified with each of our online access providers, their production servers, our debit and credit card providers, our network, and our corporate credit union. We determined none are using the vulnerable versions of Open SSL.
